Events
All summer events are open to 6th-12th graders. Our casts always have a great time together, so we like to provide opportunities to hang out. They also love meeting new friends, so if you’re new, join us during the summer! These events are not exclusive to students who like theatre; they’re for anyone who wants to have a good time!
You can come to all events or pick and choose.
- Thursday, May 21
- Drop off and pick up: 5-9pm at the Orinda Movie Theatre
- We will walk to Loard’s Ice Cream and eat dessert there before the movie.
- Movie: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
- Pick up: Orinda Theatre at 9pm
- Cost: $20. Goes toward ice cream and movie. If you would like to buy snacks at the theatre, bring extra money.
- Friday, June 12
- Drop off and pick up: 6-9pm at Hillcrest Church (404 Gregory Lane, Pleasant Hill)
- Cost: $20. Goes toward pizza dinner and prizes
- Games will include human battleship, board games, and more.
- Tuesday, July 14
- Drop off and pick up 12:15-4:30pm at Hillcrest Church (404 Gregory Lane, Pleasant Hill)
- If you don’t need to carpool and want to drive directly to Scandia, let Miss Oertel know ([email protected])
- Cost: $50. Goes toward mini golf, go karts, laser tag, arcade.
- If you would like to get food at their snack shack, bring extra money.
- Deadline to register: June 15th
- Monday, August 3- Friday, August 7
- 1-8pm
- For 8th-12th graders (includes students going into 8th grade). If you are in 6th-7th grade and have worked with Miss Oertel before, you are welcome to sign up.
- Grow exponentially as an actor and have a great time doing it!
- Each day will consist of learning and practicing acting techniques and musical theatre skills.
- Each evening will have end-of-summer fun activities, like escape rooms, mini golf, karaoke, and a town-wide scavenger hunt!
- Friday night is the showcase to show off the scenes and duets that we’ve learned.
- Location: the Historic Port Costa School House
